Is Lady Gaga Part of the Cast of HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’?
The short answer to the question is: no. However, while it would have been exciting to see Lady Gaga join the cast of HBO’s upcoming prequel series House of the Dragon, sadly we will have to wait for a different project pairing to get that dream collaboration.
Lady Gaga, who skyrocketed into fame with her iconic hits as a singer and performer and has since gained much recognition for her performance in films like A Star Is Born, has become one of today’s most talked about names in entertainment. Thus fans everywhere were sending up prayer hands emoji when Variety reported on November 16th that Lady Gaga was up for a role in the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragons. Unfortunately the official sources for all things GoT poured cold water over speculation about that news adding that Lady Gaga has not yet been casted for any roles within House Of The Dragon.
Although this pairing won’t be taking place anytime soon, we are still excited by what lies ahead with House Of The Dragon and can’t wait until its premiere expected sometime late 2021 or early 2022!

Lady Gaga is set to play a role in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon. This new series, based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel, focuses on House Targaryen’s 300-year rule and their influence over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Lady Gaga will play Princess Lara Antaryon, a cousin to Daenerys Targaryen who is described as “the most sensual and mysterious woman in her world.” As one of the heir contenders to the Targaryen throne, it looks like Princess Lara Antaryon may be a character with great influence in Westeros’ royal family and could prove pivotal to House of Dragon’s plot line.
At this stage it is unclear how much screen time Lady Gaga will receive or if she will be featured prominently throughout the 10-episode season, but what is certain is that her involvement brings an exciting dimension to this much anticipated series. How Did Lady Gaga Become Involved In House of the Dragon?
Lady Gaga is set to make a cameo appearance in HBO’s prequel series to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon. The news was announced during the virtual 2021 TCA Summer Press Tour.
Lady Gaga and her team have long had a close relationship with HBO, due in large part to the massive success that was “The Monsters Ball Tour” on HBO back in 2011. This will be her first TV or movie role since her performance in American Horror Story: Hotel (2015).
So how did Lady Gaga come to become a part of House of the Dragon? It all started with an early pitch between John Gregory Betancourt and Bryan Cogman, two major players behind the scenes of all things GoT. Knowing that Lady Gaga already had a strong affinity for fantasy and science fiction, they wanted her involved with House of the Dragon from day one.
Betancourt then brought up Lady Gaga’s name as an ideal potential cameo artist for House Of The Dragon when discussing potential recasts or additional casting possibilities.
