## Is That Kevin Bacons House in Guardians of the Galaxy?

Though it may seem farfetched to some, fans of classic 80s films might feel a sense of familiarity when watching the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy – that’s because one particular house bears a striking resemblance to the home in the Kevin Bacon flick Footloose. So, is that indeed Bacon’s house in Guardians of the Galaxy? The answer lies somewhere between a yes and no, depending on who you ask.

“Yes”, according to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Writers Guide author Brad Brevet. “The reason why everyone thinks it’s [Kevin Bacon’s] house from Footloose is because many members of the film crew were actually exterior production staff from 1983 who helped build and style this set for Footloose in Dalton [Georgia],” Brevet explains. However, due to copyright restraints, Disney was unable (or unwilling) to acquire rights from Paramount Pictures (owner of Footloose property), thus “officially” denying any ties between both productions beyond coincidental design similarities.

Interestingly enough though, many pedestrians have stumbled upon this secret over time – some even using online street mapping services such as Google Maps or Bing Maps to take an up-close look at its architecture which matches closely with location seen on-screen during various scenes in both movies! In fact, Dennis Quaid was quoted by Collider stating that “it looks exactly like it did 35 years ago”.
